The Valley, Season 1, Episode 10: #1 Douche in the Group
Tuesday Aug 13, 2024
Tuesday Aug 13, 2024
The besties kick off this episode talking about some of the more recent events in the Olympics and how Noah Lyle kind of loves controversy. They’re also excited about Stassi’s return to reality TV!
This episode pissed off both Mel and Jill but in mildly different ways. Mel really didn’t like how Janet got mad at Jason over kind of nothing, but Jill could see the gray areas. And then Jill was mad about the Napoleon complex debate between Jason and Danny. But they both got really pissed about Jax’s treatment of Brittany, and the utter douche baggery of it all. Brittany, you deserve better.

The Valley, Season 1, Episode 9: Big Bear or Big Bummer?

The Besties start out this episode discussing the sad turn of events for the Vienna, Austria Eras Tour shows. They pivot to a happier topic of the iconic and historic pick of Tim Walz as the running mate for Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. He’s the midwestern dad we didn’t know we needed. They also touch on early 2000’s favorites, Brittany Spears and Justin Timberlake. (Justin gave Mel the ick from the beginning.)
They then dive into this lackluster episode for The Valley. Essentially it boils down to Jax being a jerk, Janet being a mean girl, and Jesse thinking drugs can act as a shortcut to intensive therapy. This being the eye before the storm in the upcoming episode, the Besties are hoping for a return to the copious amounts of drama the love from Bravo reality tv shows.

Summer of Blockbusters: Men In Black - Edgar Suit
Tuesday Aug 06, 2024
Tuesday Aug 06, 2024
The first half of the episode the Besties discuss Deadpool & Wolverine, (No spoilers! We promise!) which somehow ends up in a discussion of animation to live action films.
Then we gush about one of the best films to come out of the late 90s… Men In Black. We wholeheartedly feel this film stood the test of time and is just as entertaining and funny as it was in 1997.

The Valley, Season 1, Episode 8: Back to High School

Thursday Aug 01, 2024
The besties begin the episode whining about IT issues, and Rosie makes a quick guest appearance. We discuss Jax’s recent news which somehow turns into a discussion on the Kardashians relationships.
Mel and Jill finally get to the meat of the show which really consisted of a couple funny scenes and an ‘invite fight.’ Who are we kidding, the invite drama was basically the entire episode. From petty to pettier, the entire situation was like a poorly written episode of Secret Life of the American Teenager.

Mel & Jill Digress 8 - All Things Sports

Tuesday Jul 30, 2024
The Besties start off talking about their weekends of furniture and movies, and possible one of the 2024 summer blockbuster of the year. They then move into the craziness that was the Belgian Grand Prix and the unfortunate disqualification of George Russel. That lead them down the rabbit whole of silly season on the tail of Carlos Sainz announcing he’ll be moving to Williams for 2025. After that they just had to gush about their love of the Olympics, and their thoughts on the first few days of competition.

The Valley, Season 1, Episode 7: Conversation Starters

Thursday Jul 25, 2024
The Besties kick off the episode with some F1 news that Mel knew before Jill. We then have a quick discussion on our love of Costco, Ikea, and other big box stores,
This episode of The Valley had several good conversations that made this episode rather enjoyable to watch compared to previous episodes. With a wide range of topics from gossiping, fertility specialists, sex therapists, PPD, and everything in between… the besties have thoughts.

We’ve had enough of unprecedented events… we millennials are TIRED thank you. On a lighter note, the Hungarian GP will make an excellent plot point in Season 7 of Drive to Survive. Fingers crossed Netflix had cameras there this past weekend.
The besties dive into their next summer blockbuster - the cult classic (if poorly aged) National Lampoon’s Vacation. We follow along as the Griswolds have a harrowing summer road trip to Walleyworld (not to be confused with the nickname for Wal-Mart). From a couple of deaths, several felonies, and an opportunity for adultery, it’s definitely a vacation to go down in the history books.

The Valley, Season 1, Episode 6: Blind Spots and Bald Spots
Thursday Jul 18, 2024
Thursday Jul 18, 2024
We begin the episode with the latest Scandoval update. Spoiler alert - Raquel/Rachel/Rocky, Sandoval and his new girl are the literal scum of the earth and continue to torture poor Ariana. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce continues to be the definition of “If he wanted to he would.”
This episode of the Valley is kind of all over the place with no real overarching storyline. Luke and Kristen still aren’t on the same page. Jax, Kristen, and Janet continue to be the primary gossips and instigators of the group. But one thing we can all agree on is that Jax Taylor is simultaneously an idiot and reality TV gold. The episode takes quite the turn at the end with what some might think is a massive reveal - only the next episode will tell though.
